Betty J. (Salgat) Karbowski
September 6, 1924 - August 9, 2008
Karbowski, Betty J. Linwood, Michigan - Mrs. Karbowski, age 83 years, passed 
away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Brian's House after a brief illness.  She was 
born in Fraser Township on September 6, 1924 to the late Joseph and Alma 
(LeVasseur) Salgat.  She married Benjamin Karbowski on June 26, 1947 at St. Anne 
Church.  He survives her.  Betty was a member of St. Anne Church, D of I and 
enjoyed going to bingos and a trip to the casino. S he was co-founder of 
Karbowski Oil Company.

Surviving beside her husband of 61 years are two sons, Gerald and Mary Kay 
Karbowski and Jack and Shelly Karbowski; grandchildren: Jeffery and Maggie 
Karbowski and Karen Karbowski; step granddaughter, Holly; great grandchildren, 
Lindsey Karbowski and Lena Snyder.  She was predeceased by a sister, Bernice 
Tomczak and a brother, Gordon Salgat.  The family would like to extend a special 
Thank you to Dr. Charles Schisler for his tender care given to Betty over the 
years.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Valentine Church with 
Rev. Fr. Chester Pilarski presiding with burial in St. Anne Cemetery.  Friends 
may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Monday from 1 to 8 p.m.  A Vigil Service 
will be held at 7 p.m.  On Tuesday Mrs. Karbowski will lie in state at the 
church from 10 a.m. until time of services.  Published Bay City Times August 10
